There is strong indication that there is a serious plot within the Senate ranks to destabilize the leadership of Bukola Saraki.

Rising under Order 42 of the Senate Rules, Senator Obinna Ogba representing Ebonyi Central says the embattled former Chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum, Abdullahi Adamu representing Nasarawa West is the mastermind of the alleged plot.

Following the motion, the Senate thereby referred the matter to the Committee on Public Petitions to investigate the matter and report in two weeks.

Meanwhile, in a latest twist to the political wrangling in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye has informed the Senate that Governor Yahaya Bello now imports arms and military uniforms for hoodlums.

Speaking under order 43 of the Senate Standing Rules, Melaye says the imported items have been intercepted by the customs and are currently at the Abuja International Airport.

In his take on the Kogi issue, the Deputy Senate President urged politicians to exercise restraint and shun acts that could heat up the polity, in the lead up to the 2019 general elections.

In the mean time, Senator James Manager will chair the Committee to investigate the Kogi incident where Senator Ogembe and his supporters came under attack by hoodlums.

Members of the Committee are Senators Jeremiah Hussaini, Hamma Missau, Kabiru Marafa, Solomon Olamilekan, Matthew Urhoghide, and Chukwuka Utazi.
